Ep. 64: They Looked Everywhere – And Chose Zambia

In Episode 64 of Lamplighters: Stories From Chabad Emissaries On The Jewish Frontier, reporter/producer Gary Waleik presents the story of Rabbi Mendy and Rebbetzin Rivky Hertzel, Chabad emissaries to Zambia. Before the Hertzels got to the important work of locating and solidifying the Jewish community in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, they had to navigate the country’s red tape, culture and relative lack of infrastructure. Fortunately, their drive, and the Rebbe’s blessings, are carrying them in their work even today.

Lamplighters: Stories From Chabad Emissaries On The Jewish Frontier is producing a series of moving, beautifully produced, sound-rich and often surprising stories of Chabad shluchim and the people they inspire in every corner of the world.
