Chabad-Lubavitch Community In Grief As Two Die in Accident

By , Chabad Lubavitch Headquarters

(lubavitch.com) Chabad-Lubavitch Headquarters mourns the tragic deaths, Wednesday, of 10-year-old Avrohom Dovid Lieberow, and 20 year-old Mrs. Pesha Leah Azoulay.

Both, passengers in a minivan, were killed in a traffic accident on Interstate 80 in Venango County, PA, at around 9 p.m. near the Clintonville exit, as they were returning from a wedding in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Also injured was the boy’s father, Rabbi Zalman Liberow, who is in critical but stable condition at UPMC Seneca. Liberow is rabbi of the Chabad shul on Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn. His wife, Mrs. Chana Liberow and three other children were treated and released from the hospital.

They returned to Brooklyn Thursday morning to attend Avrohom Dovid’s funeral, which is to begin at the Shomrei Hadaas Chapel in Boro Park, Brooklyn at 1:30pm.

The funeral procession will stop at the Liberows’ Chabad House at 2:00pm, and pass by Lubavitch World Headquarters at 770 Eeatern Parkway, at 2:30. From there it will continue to the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Springfield Gardens, Queens, New York.

In response to inquiries about how to help the family, Mr. Oren Popper, a brother-in-law of the Liberows, asked that contributions be made to http://salitafoundation.org/, and that  friends and neighbors “add in acts of kindness and goodness.”

The funeral of Pesha Leah (Roetter) Azoulay will take place tomorrow, Friday. Leaving the Shomrei Hadaas Chapel at 10:00am, it will pass Lubavitch World Headquarters at 10:30am and then to the Montefiore Cemetery in Queens.
