Senator Boschwitz Gets A Sweet Sendoff

S. PAUL, MN

Former U.S. Senator Rudy Boschwitz (1978-1991), was recently appointed by President Bush to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to The United Nations Commission on Human Rights.

Boschwitz is chairman of Friends of Merkos Lubavitch of Minnesota and a long time contributor to the Upper Midwest Lubavitch. Prior to the senator’s departure last week, he was visited by his close friend, Rabbi Moshe Feller, director of Chabad activities in the region, along with other Chabad representatives. The rabbis presented him with a Mazel Tov cake, wishing him success in his new position. Rabbi Feller recalled Boschwitz’s close rapport with the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who once referred to him as “a Shliach of the United States.” Now indeed, said Feller, Mr. Boschwitz has come into that role.
