NBA’s Ron Artest Scores For Chabad

Los Angeles, CA

(lubavitch.com) On Wednesday, September 9, KTLA Morning News (LA’s #1 Morning Show) featured LA Laker Ron Artest, shooting hoops for Chabad.

Sponsored by philanthropist Shlomo Rechnitz of TwinMed, each shot made resulted in a $1000 donation to Chabad.

Ron Artest, known as one of the NBA's premiere defensive players, felt lucky to be a part of it.

"If i can come out and use my skills to help raise money for a charity, that's G-d shining his light through me" he said.

Artest managed to hit 29 free throws in 60 seconds, netting Chabad a $29,000 donation.

"We're just putting the fun in fundraising" said Chaim Marcus, producer of the event.
