Chabad Rabbis Bring Rosh Hashana Services to Antigua

Antigua, West Indies

For the first time, Jews wanting to celebrate Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur in Antigua will no longer have to fly off the island to attend services. Two Chabad Rabbis are flying to Antigua to celebrate the holidays with the local Jews at the request of university student George Aminian.

The Rabbis Schneur Lifshitz and Menachem Posner will be bringing a parchment torah scroll with them to be read during services, as well as prayer books and a large variety of kosher food, reported the Antigua Sun.

“All Jews, students as well as residents, are welcome to the free service, regardless of their affiliation or background,” Aminian said.
