Chabad Rabbi at Smolensk Celebration

SMOLENSK, RUSSIA

Chabad-Lubavitch representative and Chief Rabbi of Smolensk, Rabbi Levi Mundshine, recently participated in “Celebration Smolensk” the official government celebration commemorating 1,140 years since the city’s founding, and sixty years since the army liberated Smolensk from the Nazi occupation.

Rabbi Mundshine joined the President of the Jewish community, Mr. Zinovy Arganat, the Governor of Smolensk region, Mr.Victor Maslov, and Mr.Vladislav Chelesk, Mayor of the city of Somlensk.

The town of Lubavitch, where the movement was headquartered for more than a century, is located in the Smolensk region.
